Raisons d'Etre

{What I Wore: Monday, March 11, 2013, Part I}
I don’t usually dress up to go to work on Mondays (because who likes Mondays?), especially the Monday after Daylight Savings Time starts and I can barely get myself out of bed. But, yesterday evening I had to go straight from work to a poster session to present my master’s thesis…except not really, because I don’t have any data yet, but it’s a poster based on the lit review and the methods I’m employing for my research. But anyway, the temperature was in the mid-40’s, so I wanted to wear a dress since I haven’t been able to all season.
The silver things in the bottom right pic are on the outside of my boots…they aren’t visible in the main pic and I think they’re fun so I took a close up.
Everything is really old, so no click-thru shopping links today: Dress (Target) | Cardigan (Old Navy) | Belt (F21, I think) | Boots (Payless).

Sometimes I’ll still reblog myself when I particularly like what I was wearing one day haha.
I wish this photo had a source (and a search by image google search turned up nothing but pinterest/tumblr reblogs). I love this photo. There is so much happening, but it’s so simple. Not knowing whose hands those are - is it a therapist/patient, is it sexual, is it a family member helping out another?
Sometimes photographs are so powerful.
Happy 2013 :) Here’s a photo from my first trip to Times Square this past summer. I never realized they kept the ball up the entire year. Goodbye, 2012!
I’ve been on the hunt for red lipstick (I don’t ever wear lipstick, but figured it’d be worth a try to keep up with the trend…it’s one of my Christmas presents to myself) - this one literally called my name so I bought it. It’s the Kate Moss line from Rimmel (shade 01). I haven’t tried it yet but I hope it won’t be too overpowering.
My holiday display in my “entry way” in my apartment. The candy jar is much less full compared to when I took this :)

My parents’ tree reppin’ my alma mater. Merry Christmas :)
My attempt at the snowflake ballerina fad. I’m so not crafty.

I have no idea where this personalized mini snowman ornament came from, but I like it.
One of my favorite ornaments on my parents’ tree.

Day 23: Gratitude
I’m extremely grateful for my lovely tiny studio apartment, with a lovely tiny tree, that I share with my new and extremely loving kitty. I’m also grateful to have a few days off of work (and for having a job I love) so I can get some much needed R&R back at my parents’ house over the holidays, which is why I’m posting a photo I took earlier this month for today’s theme (I took this when my parents wanted photos to share with relatives - this is my crappy attempt at a Christmas card).

The Christmas tree lot in my hometown…still a few good ones remaining.

Day 22: your Saturday
Drinks with a friend back home who I haven’t seen in awhile. The bar had $4 Skyy Infusion Raspberry specials. It tasted like college.

Day 21: what you’re reading (thanks to Free Nook Fridays at BN a few weeks ago)
I slacked on day 20, since day 20’s photo would be identical to day 19 (my apocalypse survival kit = my cat, a blanket, and my book).
