Raisons d'Etre

{What I Wore: Thursday, May 16, 2013}
This is maybe one of my favorite looks ever. And it’s crazy comfortable (except the shoes).
Cardigan (Carson’s) | Top (Express) | Pants (H&M) | Necklace (H&M) | Shoes (Target)

Loving these low 70’s days :)
Top (Target) | Skirt (H&M) | Shoes (Target) | Belt (F21)

Does anyone else wish they could glimpse into their future, just for a second, to see how things will be and see if insecurities eventually work themselves out?

I find my mind constantly worrying about the same things, and if I could just for a second see that I eventually work past it, that would be so comforting.

Awhile back I saw this skull scarf on H&M’s website, made a polyvore around it, and have since been looking for the scarf at several H&M’s to no avail. On my lunch break on Wednesday I went back to the huge H&M on Michigan Avenue and couldn’t find the scarf. Right when I was about to give up and leave I saw two mannequins high on a shelf wearing one. They were sold out but they took one off the display for me. Score.
And through this picture I realized just how wrinkly my pants are. I either need to not keep them in a drawer, or purchase an iron.
Pants (Victoria’s Secret) | Cardigan (Old Navy - similar) | Scarf (H&M) | Boots (LL Bean)

cuz I really like my scarf.

{What I Wore: Monday, March 11, 2013 Part II}
It felt like a chilly spring morning, so I finally got to bring out my favorite seasonal transition coat (from Nordstrom, many years ago).
See part I of the look here.

I don’t usually dress up to go to work on Mondays (because who likes Mondays?), especially the Monday after Daylight Savings Time starts and I can barely get myself out of bed. But, yesterday evening I had to go straight from work to a poster session to present my master’s thesis…except not really, because I don’t have any data yet, but it’s a poster based on the lit review and the methods I’m employing for my research. But anyway, the temperature was in the mid-40’s, so I wanted to wear a dress since I haven’t been able to all season.
The silver things in the bottom right pic are on the outside of my boots…they aren’t visible in the main pic and I think they’re fun so I took a close up.
Everything is really old, so no click-thru shopping links today: Dress (Target) | Cardigan (Old Navy) | Belt (F21, I think) | Boots (Payless).

Sometimes I’ll still reblog myself when I particularly like what I was wearing one day haha.

Daily dose of caffeine in my new mug (on sale at Target for $1.88!).

Taking a break from productivity to create a Polyvore account and make my first collage. Basically I just really want that skull scarf I found on H&M’s website today and built a look around it.

Reblogging my own post - first Polyvore ever.
Happy 2013 :) Here’s a photo from my first trip to Times Square this past summer. I never realized they kept the ball up the entire year. Goodbye, 2012!
I’ve been on the hunt for red lipstick (I don’t ever wear lipstick, but figured it’d be worth a try to keep up with the trend…it’s one of my Christmas presents to myself) - this one literally called my name so I bought it. It’s the Kate Moss line from Rimmel (shade 01). I haven’t tried it yet but I hope it won’t be too overpowering.
My holiday display in my “entry way” in my apartment. The candy jar is much less full compared to when I took this :)

My parents’ tree reppin’ my alma mater. Merry Christmas :)
My attempt at the snowflake ballerina fad. I’m so not crafty.
Taken on December 22, 2012: The Christmas tree and Santa house in a plaza in my hometown.
I have no idea where this personalized mini snowman ornament came from, but I like it.
