What would you like to have in 2013 that you lacked in 2012?
- I’m greatly considering purchasing a condo, if the right one comes along. Otherwise, I would also say a real relationship might be nice. I think I might be at that point in my life. Also, a Masters degree :)
What dates from 2012 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
- March 4 because I turned 25 years old at a martini bar for a drag queen brunch with new and old friends
- June 23rd because I moved to CT for two months for a job
- August 28 because I started my first full-time/real job.
What was your biggest achievement of the year?
- Getting my first real job is the obvious choice. I would also say my summer working in New England, because it was the longest I’ve ever been away from Chicago in my life, and it was such a period of growth and good challenge for me.

I don’t know about specific memories, but when I was in elementary school it was always exciting when the UPS truck would go down the street and slow down so I thought we were getting presents. Or when I’d come home from school and new presents would be under the tree. (I was a bit of a greedy child). I have other memories, I’m sure, but that’s just the one that came to mind.

I post most of my instagram photos on here anyway, but the reason I don’t have it completely open is that I sometimes post things that are more personal (e.g. would reveal where I work and, photos of me and my friends, etc.)

I say do what you want: I have friends who are waiting until marriage (for religious or other personal reasons), and I have friends who are most definitely not. It’s not my place to make a value judgement on their choices. All of my friends are great people, as they wouldn’t be friends of mine if they weren’t, so what they do or don’t do in their bedroom with their partners is none of my business.
I think as long as you are mature and responsible enough to handle the potential consequences (physical, emotional, fetus), then whatever you decide is fine. I’ve known people though who were most definitely not ready for the consequences despite thinking they were, and it wasn’t pretty. Personally, I also think you should really know the person you’re with (if for no other reason than safety) and really care about them.
