For the second installment of my “Gaining Clarity” series (even though I still have not completed part one): a list of September goals.
For me, being the education-enthusiast that I am, I have always loved this time of year for two reasons: the weather, and “back-to-school.” Nothing would get me more excited as a child (or even now) than getting my class schedule, new school supplies, new clothing…it’s a time for reinvention, new goals - which for me usually included “be more organized and don’t procrastinate” yet never panned out - and limitless possibilities.
I always felt that the start of the new year was in September, not in January, and while I make New Years Resolutions I feel like more realistic and life-altering ones occur in the fall with the start of a new school year. As of right now I’m not sure if I will be starting school again or not this fall, but nonetheless I still think of it as a good place to start something new.
Since September is just 30 days, I have made a list of 10 manageable yet ambitious goals for myself…at least I hope they’re realistic. I’ll cross them off at the end of the month if I was successful
Perfect the Pumpkin Spice Latte recipe
Limit soda consumption to only weekends (and just one/day on weekends)
Go running once/week (only read one full book)
Read three books
Find a full-time job, or a few part-time jobs related to what I want to do (I tried)
Determine an educational/career plan and work toward moving out (In progress)
Choreograph two minutes toward my next piece
Try a new cookie recipe/make cookies from scratch
Work toward becoming a pescetarian - eat meat only once/week
Do one new thing I’ve never done before/outside of my comfort zone. I’m leaving the genre of this open to allow for more possibilities to meet this goal.
I think those are doable. Happy last day of August everyone!
